Hi guys,

5 year old Mazda. Change my own winters every year and when accessing my breaker bar I noticed small amount of water/oil (rust proof most likely), pooling in the trench.

I thought... maybe I went through the car wash not too long ago and some water got in, so no big deal and wiped what I saw.

Now fast forward 2 months later I decided to check on it again and noticed a small amount of water/oil pooling again. I took off the foam piece sitting in the trunk to investigate further. Now I'm a little concern... if I never check, this could be a big problem. Rust, etc.

How do I stop this from happening? What do I have to take apart to fix?

I have it too. Not that bad though. You can take it to mazda and see what they'll say.

Mine was leaking through the tail lights and dripping in. Are you anywhere near the Tri-cities? Or could travel down? We could do a test and see what we find.

Scared to look. That area is all covered in dynamat. Hope there's no extra rust sound deadening material.
