Hey guys I just picked up a 2008 Mazda3 GT and am not at all happy with the speakers and stock deck that are included. I would love help figuring out what deck I should get (I would like a touch screen with a nav in it). Also what speakers should i get for my front and back? Also should I get a sub aswell? I'm new to the car scene and need some help

Thanks!

http://www.eonon.com ordered mine for $300 navi/DVD everything. So many options couldn't be any happier. They have a world cup sale also! Limited time deal

+1 for Eonon! Couldn't be happier.
Plus it's got preamps so you don't have to put a LOC for a subwoofer. But you can keep the original wiring for your door speakers. Get some wiring harnesses for aftermarket door speakers if you plan to use the original wiring though. Ebay for like 15 bucks.

Pm me if you have any questions

Would need to know your budget for one thing.

And its entirely up to you to know whether or not you'll want a sub or not.

Start with the deck first, since almost every aftermarket deck will give you a noticeable difference with stock speakers. Decide then if you want to upgrade.

Okay thanks and my budget is around 700 bucks for a deck and anything else I need for speakers or a sub if I wanted

Go to a store like audio heaven and tell them your budget and have them build a system for you or start to build something

Deck>speakers>sub

For a decent sound quality system - I would up the budget.

Not trying to sound like an ass - but either pay the little bit extra now, and get it done right, or risk having to do it all over again in a few years.

A quality touch screen deck with Navi will be about $700+ after install.

Amp, sub and enclosure hits another $500 easy

As mentioned earlier - you can go to Audio Heaven as they often have clearance items that are priced very nicely

If you can settle with a deck without navigation then you can get a real nice double din for only $200 on Crutchfield and be supplied with the wiring harness and dash kit for free. Mind you if you buy a deck with navigation from them you'll also get these items for free on stereos priced $149 (or $169) and up. My reasoning behind this is that I will never ever ever ever get a headunit with navigation or buy another GPS. My phone has GPS and it uses Google Maps... Updates for free! Have a nifty little dash mount for my phone and a usb charging cord for the long trips. Love it!

A set of decent yet affordable speakers will run you 250 for all 4, and then you have about 300 left to buy a sub and amp, or save a bit of money and get powered sub (amp and sub in one unit) OR buy an amp for about $150, a sub for about $120 and build your own box for $50.

All this around your budget of what you set aside for your deck alone. If you're looking for a quality system then you gotta pay more. This is the type of sound system I have in my Dodge Dakota... I've yet to upgrade my Mazda's yet. Simple yet enjoyable.

Since you werent too sure about a sub, I would leave that for last and not go crazy and get 2x 15" subs in a ported box at like 1000W rms... overkill.

Simple Google search will answer that for you, or check the sponsor section and their address and contact info is listed

One thing to consider as well. If you have the bose system the wiring harness will be a lot more expensive vs the regular wiring harness. I remember the guy at Powerline telling me he paid 250 just for the harness in his 6 because it had the bose system. If it doesn't have it then your fine. Personally for my build I spent 140 for my Alpine Deck, 240 for all 4 Clarion door speakers, 150 for my JBL 1500W 2 channel amp and 200 for my JL10W7. Ohh and 55 for my wiring harness. Speakers, deck and wiring harness were brand new. But take a stroll on Kijiji and look at different prices. I paid just about 700 for mine and it sounds fantastic! Plus if you can do it yourself that's an added bonus.

I put kicker cs series speakers in my car and they sound great. If you can find a clarion nav from last year you may get it for half off.
