Hey guys, new to the forums. Just posting my experience after buying a 2012 GX from 401 Dixie. The moment I started looking through the lot, one of the sales guys came out and you could tell this guy needed to make a sale. Luckily I had called in earlier to go over the GX with someone else, so I was able to brush him aside. The other associate, Jose, came out right on time and we started talking about the car. It was a manual Carbon Fibre edition from 2012 with 16k km and some change on it. Mechanic friend and I go over the car and realize this thing is pretty much mint. I've seen the hate for this dealership on these forums, but I was pretty confident that I could get the car for a pretty good price. I thought it was going to be ridiculous the moment the first salesperson came out, but Jose was pretty cool. We drove around for a bit and Jose cracked a couple of jokes and we talked cars. Overall, an okay experience, and I enjoyed the car. Then we talked prices. They wanted 13,995 before HST and all of their bullshit fees. We got them to knock off those bullshit fees after quite a bit haggling. I wanted to buy the car outright with cash, but they told me I could get a better price with a financing option. I'd made sure to get an option that allowed me to pay off the car when I wanted. So after we got that done, we talked with one of the financing guys about some paperwork and their warranty crap. His name was Imran. He was fairly polite, but I'm a younger guy, and I felt that he was talking down to me a few times. Didn't appreciate that. Long story short, I lowball his price for rustproofing and my dad says he wants to buy me the extended warranty bullshit for around 200$ combined before HST. It was a gift from my dad, and I tried to talk him out of it, but he wanted to do it. I end up paying about 16,000 for the car. I felt got a pretty good deal for a car with 16k km on it. However, if I ever have to speak with that dealership again, I refuse to speak with anyone but Jose. Someone mentioned in another thread about the associates walking around with their dick's in their hands. I have to say I saw a lot of that when I picked up the car and when I was buying it. Lastly, the day after dealing with Imran about the financing rate, he says he will do it with my home bank for 5.99%, whereas before the rate was 4.99%. I got him to get the 4.99 with my home bank after showing my displeasure. I wasn't too concerned as the car will be paid off promptly, but I thought it was a bit underhanded.

Cliff Notes:
-Bought a car from the devil's dealership
-Refused to acknowledge their bullshit fees
-Disrespectful
-Got the car for (what I think is) a fairly good deal
-Jose is a diamond in the rough. If you have dealings there, try and speak with him

Welcome and enjoy your stay..

couple of note, Omvic restricts fees on top of advertised prices on site like autotrader.. if there is an admin fee, it should have been included in the $13995

As for the price.. I was selling our remaining new ones just over 16 months ago for $15,800 (manual as well)

As for the car, I love the Carbon fibre just wish they had at least done it on the GX with comfort.
