I need a new reverse/back-up camera as the one I got has crapped out. any suggestions?

have u guys used these before? do you know if the licence plate light will still work with this installed?

I used it for 2005 Mazda3. Take the OEM license plate light cove out and replace with this one. Just run the wiring to your HUD/monitor then you've done. Here is the sample diagram.

Sooo do you lose the license plate light? Im trying to decide between this type or something that will need to be taped or screwed in along the same area. I dont want to get another camera that attaches to the license plate itself.

No, the light is still there. You just replace the clear plastic lense cover only (yellow colour in this picture) according to this diagram. Just snap the backup camera to it.
