Anyone else ever have an issue where the car just felt like it was shaking unnaturally around the 1000-1500rpm range? Felt it especially on the highway today in a lot of traffic and as I was slowing down coming to a light. The downshifts coming to a stop weren't as smooth as I remember them.

About 18000k on the car. No performance mods. I do have ain't alignment issue that I have to get fixed but this felt like more of an engine problem.

There were no weird spikes in RPM or anything that would suggest something seriously wrong but the way the car felt/shook did not feel right.

Car is automatic BTW.

Sounds like what was happening to another car on here recently. Water in the intake/maf sensor area. The other car had a CAI however. It rained buckets today so see if it doesn't disappear when it dries up overnight.

This actually does sound like a possibility. I drove right after that crazy rainstorm in Brampton and that's when I felt it.

But I just left Brampton (12Pm) and didn't feel it at all or at least as much. I felt only a little bit of it.

It's more of a feel thing than a visual/audible thing.

I have this problem, but my 2013 is not a Skyactive. I've had it with different types of wheel and tire combinations. I hate it.

try to determine if it is brakes (you said you were slowing down), engine (put it in neutral) or even shut off engine (you will lose power steering and brakes) so do this in a closed area. If it is serious engine problem chances are you would have an engine light on so IMO that is unlikely.

I think Jackal was right, may have just been a wet intake filter. Because later that night (approx. 5 hours after that torrential downpour) I wasn't feeling the same issue.

My car does the same thing (2013 Skyactiv with 20,500km), it vibrates and shakes, mostly at idle after a big rain storm but it always goes away after. I used to think something was wrong with my car but I've gotten used to it now lol.

Or perhaps you've gotten used to something wrong with your car... :P

Basically... LOL. But my boyfriend drives my car and says there's nothing wrong with it. I believe him haha.

Is the ac or defrost on when you feel it shake or vibrate

I don't remember, it was a whole ago. But it wouldn't be unlikely that the AC was on.

You may want to get that aligment checked asap. You have Service Adjustments for 1 year and 20k.
Should cover that.

Btw, thanks for mentioning this. My car has 19550k on it so I called the dealer today and am getting an alignment done now. So thanks!

Its 1 year 24k services every 8k. And the 24k or any service does not include and alignment. Its additional to the brake service

You're thinking regular maintenance. We are talking Warranty coverage.

New cars shouldn't need an alignment. I'm 40k in and still solid.

Did the alignment today (free of charge as it was just under 20K). They said it didn't need an alignment but they did one anyway.

Kind of pulls to the left even more now but whatever. I'll drive it around a bit more just to be sure and contact them if anything.

I think the original issue was just hydro lock causing the shaking.

Cars should get an alignment once a year at the annual service or at least checked yearly. It will go out and you may not even notice it. But by the time the tires start wearing odd its tooooo late. Something called preventive maintenance. But i check mine in the spring before the summers go on. 106 000km both tire sets are over half life left. Do any adjustments required. Tires are not the only thing bad alignments can wear on as well.. but your right i misread what you said
