Time to trade my 2011 Yozora in for this... If this gets the skyactiv 2.0L it'll be a sick car.

Id buy this. Hell i started by looking at a 2. If it wasnt for the shifter in the dash which I hated i would have owned one. Interested to see what power plant it gets. 2.0l sky? Or keep the 1.6l. Or go a smaller diesel / turbo. Heck the kia fortes come with an optional 1.6L Turbo with 200hp. Would be more then enough for this car.

I believe there's supposed to be a diesel as well as a 2.0.

Now that the CX-3 and MX-5 are out and almost out, when can we expect to see the new Mazda2? Any word or update after the postponed launch?

I thought they weren't releasing the 2016 Mazda2 in North America. ?
Because of the CX3 and the Scion iA which are both based on the Mazda2.

We are. They delayed the launch to January due to the CX3 and MX5.

It's coming.

Right, almost forgot. I actually paid more attention to the new 2 than the new miata; from looking under the car to the dials in the interior.

Mazda2 is coming to Canada but not to the US. It is nice but has a pretty tight back seat. I can see Mazda2 and CX-3 losing sales on this alone to the Fit and HR-V.

I actually have a soft spot for the 2....it's a pretty zippy little thing...I drive my Dad's 2 any chance I get. Recently I've been thinking it might make a fun beginner track car because if I kill it off it's not a huge financial loss

As nice as it looks it will only sell if it is priced right..

THe CX-3 will out sell the Mazda3 as soon as the programs are similar..

CX3 with auto, A/C, back up camera and touch screen starts at $20,500.

Mazda2 needs to be closer to the $14,995 for it to compete. IMHO.

Let's hope they still offer the $500 discount to first time car buyers on the 2016. I'd get my wife's name on the ownership if I really wanted the 2 over the 3 or CX-3. I think in order for the Mazda3 to compete with the CX-3 is when they release the 2017 mid-cycle refresh.

I am told it wont be coming to Canada... Which is fine.. You can get an Auto AC CX3 starting at $20500...
