Financial planner

So I've been looking to find a reputable financial planner to help me with some decisions.

Does anyone have one they go to and recommend? How long have you known them and what do you like about them? How do you pay for there services? Are they taking a cut from something or is it an hourly fee based situation (which I hear are the best since they are generally unbiased in the advice they give)

I pay a small annual fee for my financial planner in Oakville, and very happy with him. Been using him for a few years. Used the free service at Scotiabank before that and while it didn't completely suck they are obviously biased in what they sell/promote.
