Pulled down the wheel well liner today just for fun and noticed this.

Let me point it out:

The f*** is going on here?
Bought the car in November 2013, so yes it's been through one lovely winter already and I have intentions of krowning it come this October (2014).
Btw, this is the front left tire facing the bumper.
Could be nothing but looks to me like something.
Thoughts?

Hard to tell from the pics...need more macro style shot.
Why did you not Krown last year when you got the car? And I would Krown it now - what are you waiting for? Hottest months are best for the Krown to flow and move around crevices. Go see Igor at Krown Lakeshore.

Yeah, it was hard to stick my arm in there but ill try and get a better shot.
To be honest, this is my first car, and I knew nothing about krowning, mazda's notorious reputation for rusting, etc etc. before I even bought the car.

Yea, that's going to rust if you don't cover it in something like Krown. Just accept it.

OMG sell it! Joking. We've seen stuff like that before. It's not only on Mazdas either. I believe other cars rust as well. Krowning it will help.

Yeah just didn't expect it to be this soon.

Don't tempt me..... I wish I could start all over again. But whatever. I drove a 2002 explorer prior and that thing barely showed any signs of rust until about 10 years later so this is a bit of a surprise for me. I kind of knew Mazda was notorious for this but I didn't expect it so soon.

Normal. Looks like an unpainted surface covered by the inner fender which may actually trap dirt, salt and water.
Buy a can of rust check and soak it and be done. I don't think krown would reach in there because of the inner fender.
You should see the inner fenders in my Dakota... smothered in POR15 now but they were horrible.

Go to gt custom exhaust in oshawa get your car oil sprayed its the same stuff and done the same way as KROWN
Won't get rid of the rust but stops it from spreading
Also they will spray spots in and around sunroof and roof around windshield where other places don't
