I have an engraved shift knob, then the insert inside slipped somehow and the engraving is now 180 degrees the wrong way, and thus useless. Annoying.

American Shifter is the company who hosted the event. I can pick/choose whichever knob i want ( i have to buy it) and i believe i can have anything engraved.

Whats the thread pitch on a auto knob? 10x1.25 is for manual and you could easily rethread if its 8x1.25

That's the thing, the auto stick is a size smaller so it needs some sort of insert.

If it were a larger size like m12x1.25 you'd need a insert

Indeed. The auto stick is too small for the big hole of the manual knob. Threading won't solve the problem.
