Hi,
This past Sunday my 2008.5 Mazda3 GT's AT and CEL lights came on randomly..
Two weeks ago I took it into my local mechanic to get an oil change, they recommended and flushed the transmission fluid. This past Sunday as I was out driving I felt a jerking motion. The transmission went down to 3rd from 5th gear and the AT and CEL came on. I've done a little research and it seems like the transmission went into safe mode to preserve itself..
Checked the transmission fluid level and it was a little low so I topped it up. Didn't have the correct ATF M-V because apparently the dealer only sells that..
Plugged in the twice paid for code reader and it says P0753 is the error. A quick google found me this:
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid 'A' valve
- Shift solenoid 'A' valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid 'A' valve circuit is open or shorted
I clear the errors so I can get to work, but not doing any other driving...
Can cross off the first two issues. I don't see any leaking since I topped it up on Sunday. After I got the car back two weeks ago it wreaked of BO. I have since come to realize that's what transmission fluid smells like.. yuck.
Have an appointment with at a local Mazda dealership tomorrow, mechanic is located in Mississauga and I live and work in Hamilton.. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what might be causing this? Did my mechanic botch the transmission flush?
Thanks, Joe
