Anyone thinking of going to this?

It may be or not be what you think.

For those too lazy to click on the link:

"At the Don Mills complex, there’s a fully licensed lounge with large patio overlooking a shopping street. Moviegoers can drink beer, wine and cocktails there or while seated in a theatre, with prices ranging from $6.50 for a domestic pint to $9.50 for a two-ounce Candy Appletini. In addition to the usual snacks, food ranging from an artisanal cheese board ($11) to a burger ($14) is on offer. If the candy counter doesn’t tempt, there’s a Brownie Explosion sundae for $7.
Servers take orders before the show starts and deliver drinks and food to side tray tables before the lights go down. Some of the seats are made for cuddlers, with no armrests in between."

Went to the VIP theatre at varsity cineplex once, the screen was way to small for the price

It will likely be the only theatre I attend. (Keeping in mind it's the closest to me outside of the zoo they call york dale)

$6.50 for a domestic pint is not bad. But a $14 burger? Better come with fries at least.

Misleading title.
But a very good idea. My wife and I typically prefer matinees for the reduced crowd (and resulting noise).

Are you new? You can get hammered pretty much anywhere that serves alcohol.

I'm usually hammered before walking in anyway.... Or I bring my own little Mickey of rum to mix with my coke.

Being drunk makes the movie that much funnier - and you don't feel too bad for wasting $24 for the tickets and $50 on food

When they see you. "It's the classy guy again." Haha.

Adults only is not necessarily rude-free behavior either.
Would I be tempted to go? Hard to say since the quality of recent films have not been enticing enough to view on a big screen.

No time to cuddle for Asyed. There's a stock 3 that must be waxed.

I remember when they marketed these urine bags for football games. "Sporting event urine bags". Drink as much beer as you want and never miss any of the action again. lol

Some of my customers (that do not need them due to health reasons) are either Pilots, or addicted gamblers LOL

I don't mind AVX (loud/expensive) because it usually drowns out any kids talking/ other crowd distractions. Might give this a try instead so I don't have to lose my s*** on the person behind me who insists on kicking my GF's chair or tell the person in front of me to stop texting with their screen on full brightness.

My pet peeve too when someone kicks my chair.

Spent too much on home theatre set up to go watch movies in the theatre anymore. I'm so backlogged now that pretty much anything I already wanted to watch is out on blueray etc.

But that said, these types of movie theatres will cater to the "older" crowd that don't want to deal with the bs of the usual theatres

Kids that want to get wasted will not be going to these theatres. Those are the kids buying cheap booze from the lcbo and getting drunk in a basement somewhere

I bet they'll attract lots of young folks. Once you turn 19 the big deal is not having to drink in the basement anymore, you go out and do it :p

I'd go if it were the right movie that required a big screen and beer. Once in a while would be fun.
