Hey guys,

I can only afford one at the moment, coilovers or a nice set of rims. I have a 2009 Mazda3 Gt Sport and hate the 'snowflake' style rims (I'll probably post the rims in the marketplace if I choose to get new rims).

What do you think?

I would say coilovers first. That said, I would wait until spring to buy coils, and would keep an eye out for used wheels now.

+1 to the suggestions so far. Lower first, then get wheels.

Good luck!

What do you think?

1. buy my coilovers
2. buy my wheels at the same time

nice and cheap for both lol

I'm a noob here, but I had the same dilemma. I ended up going coils first and I'm happy I did, personally I am just not as big of a fan of aftermarket rims with wheel gap - plus you never know if you will change your mind about wheels once you go lower, I mean size and style wise, although I don't think the snowflakes are that bad :P

Thanks guys I appreciate it, looks like everyone agrees on the coilovers. I know there's probably a few threads about this already but would would you recommend one brand/set over another? Thanks

KW V2 > everything!

Lol but in all seriousness get stainless steel coilovers, you'll be glad you spent the extra cash to avoid seizing and rust and such

Coilovers before wheels. Seriously, after having done the opposite, the look of aftermarket wheels with low profile tires on a stock height car drives me nuts. Looks terrible in my opinion, even if you have the intentions of lowering. Lower first, it will look good even with stock wheels.

If you have the cash, I agree I would go with KW. If not, BC's are a good option as well.

EDIT:
This is the look I'd steer you away from. This is my car 3 years ago? I don't even remember anymore. All I know is it looked retarded and it needed to be lower asap.
