Hi guys,
I have a problem: I just replaced the battery on my 2006 Mazda3 GT and when re-connected, all lights and horn are solid on. Everything else is dead. No dashboard light, nothing... I tried to open the trunk with the key - it didn't work. I tried open-close/open-close sequence on the driver's door with the key. Doesn't work. I tried to put the key in on position and then re-connect the battery: doesn't work either. But, in this case, with the battery still connected, I turn the key to off position and now the wipers stopped.
Can anybody help me with some ideas...?
Kindly appreciated!

Sounds like a fuse. Take them out and inspect them.

(thank you for replay. yes, I found a 15a fuse - called ROOM - which was bad. I replaced it with a new one. Still, same problem and it did blow it up again...
Looked on all other fuses and they are good. Any idea what ROOM means ..?

If the fuse blew again it means you have a short somewhere .

The ROOM fuse controls your radio and interior LED's. That shouldn't be the fuse that's causing your issues. Well, at least not that on its own. Though it definitely sounds like a fuse/wiring issue nonetheless. Just pull them all and inspect them.

yes, seems to be that...though it make no sense to be that coincidental. I have a "in dash" 6 CD changer - is that system having/driving the alarm system too?

yeah, found somewhere that the ROOM fuse drives the alarm system too .. ;(

Right, so if you replace the blown fuse and it blows again that quick, then definitely look into what SFW suggested. It's gotta be wiring somewhere that's shorting out.

...or the alarm system module is fried.... :(
