Adding weights to the rims

2010 MS3, I have the stock 18" rims... curious when I buy my winter tires I was told I should add new weights ? is this recomended?

yes. when wheels and tires are manufactured, they are not perfectly round.
Wheels have thinner part than the rest, same thing to tires.
Tires have yellow and/or red dots, that is what it is.

tires always need to be rebalanced when installing.
