My experience from Ajax Mazda...
I was emailing about 8 dealerships about "best price" and they came up with a price that met what I was willing to pay.
The dealer I was working with was very attentive and really pushed for the sale and it worked on me.
I was happy at that point and provided a deposit for the car via credit card over the phone.
1. After I signed the deal, it appeared to be about 300 more than the agreed upon price. In the emails, I said $2X,XXX OTR and on the bill of sale, it was that plus an extra 300 more than that. Stupid me for not looking at it before signing. Sure, I'll give them A/C Tax and plate transfer, but that should be $150 max. I didn't mention anything because I feel like it was my error for not looking at the price, so in a way i'll give them a mulligan, or questionable ethics - depends how you look into it.
2. on the day I was picking up the car, I told him I will be in a bit late because I was delivery my old car. He messages me with a remark about how I can grab a gift for him. Albeit, there was an lol at the end so I didn't take it serious, but not quite professional.
2. Two weeks after, I called and emailed about getting a replacement part and the pricing for it. He said he would get on it, it's been a month and i still don't have the price for it.
3. last week, he checks in and asks:
- do you know anyone looking to buy
- can you fill out a survey for me asking me to give him a "perfect score"
I told him no, I already filled one out and I'm still waiting on the price of the replacement part.
No answer since then.
Solid sales support, he put pressure on my to buy, kind of clouded my judgement because I didn't think someone would meet my asking price the second day I was contacting dealers. However, I'm not overly impressed with the support provided after the sale.
I don't think I will be going there for routine maintenance after my experience. Would rather go to a dealership that knows after sales service is just as important as service during the sale.
