My experience from Ajax Mazda...

I was emailing about 8 dealerships about "best price" and they came up with a price that met what I was willing to pay.

The dealer I was working with was very attentive and really pushed for the sale and it worked on me.
I was happy at that point and provided a deposit for the car via credit card over the phone.

1. After I signed the deal, it appeared to be about 300 more than the agreed upon price. In the emails, I said $2X,XXX OTR and on the bill of sale, it was that plus an extra 300 more than that. Stupid me for not looking at it before signing. Sure, I'll give them A/C Tax and plate transfer, but that should be $150 max. I didn't mention anything because I feel like it was my error for not looking at the price, so in a way i'll give them a mulligan, or questionable ethics - depends how you look into it.

2. on the day I was picking up the car, I told him I will be in a bit late because I was delivery my old car. He messages me with a remark about how I can grab a gift for him. Albeit, there was an lol at the end so I didn't take it serious, but not quite professional.

2. Two weeks after, I called and emailed about getting a replacement part and the pricing for it. He said he would get on it, it's been a month and i still don't have the price for it.

3. last week, he checks in and asks:
- do you know anyone looking to buy
- can you fill out a survey for me asking me to give him a "perfect score"

I told him no, I already filled one out and I'm still waiting on the price of the replacement part.

No answer since then.

Solid sales support, he put pressure on my to buy, kind of clouded my judgement because I didn't think someone would meet my asking price the second day I was contacting dealers. However, I'm not overly impressed with the support provided after the sale.

I don't think I will be going there for routine maintenance after my experience. Would rather go to a dealership that knows after sales service is just as important as service during the sale.

If you do go back for service, they will gladly "wash" your car. By that I mean leave half the dirt behind and not dry it giving you some nice water marks.

Aren't you suppose to get the parts dept to get your pricing on parts and not the salesperson?
He could get it for you as building client relationship and work above beyond, but I mean Part dept should be the place you talk to.

I would fill up the survey and put negatvie marking just for him to say that.

When I purchased my first vehicle through Whitby Mazda back in 2012 it was the same way with the sales person I dealt with...

Push, push, push on the sale and after that on to the next. I understand sales are important but a relationship/service after the sale is just as important.

I just traded that car in and purchased a new 14' GT, and dealt with Barry from Whitby Mazda...overall great guy. Way better then my first experience. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy. If you go to him, tell him I sent you.

Cheers.

from experiences with my old car - I've had dirt left behind and water on the body when I left.
is it practice to really wash and dry the car? I always thought it would be a hard spray and that would be considered good.

Bought my car there and their service is not that great at all! took my car in to replace trunk release wire and when i picked up my car they didn't even put back the trunk panel back on properly with missing fasteners, stupid me only checked when i got home. I didn't complain as it was not really a big deal to me but definitely will not going back there again.

i have had nothing but great experiences with ajax mazda's service and parts dept . had the car in to have a cel looked at and an oil change done . they found my pcm info was out of date , they updated the software for free . when i picked up the car i saw they only charged me a 1hr diagnosis fee . the only thing i can say they didnt do was wash the car but im ok with that , i do a better job anyways lol.

I had a similar experience at Ajax mazda when I purchased my vehicle.

They had reprinted another bill of sale for me to sign and added $150 to our agreed upon price. The guy Hamid that I was dealing with was also super pushy....
I'll chalk it up to a learning experience and the car was a great purchase, can't really say much about their ethics and tactics though.

I recently purchased my new Mazda from them as well. Pushy is an understatement. They didn't end up having the color/trim I wanted and seemed very intent on me taking something they already had on the lot. I knew what I wanted when I went in and in the end it took about three weeks just to have a dealer trade done. The car was located in week one in Markham. The day came to sign the bill of sale only to notice mistakes throughout pertaining to price and personal information. At times they were very unprofessional when it came to me refusing to sign the original bill of sale due to the information being incorrect. Also experienced the phone call concerning the questionnaire and if I was willing to give them a perfect score. The dealership is clean and the staff are friendly but I think the only thing that will bring me back in the future would be the parts counter. I don't like to bash any type of business and I still think it's a decent place to buy a Mazda...just a bit pushy sales wise. I guess every dealer has their own way of doing things. The day of delivery went great and they were very quick with all of the final details which made up for most of the poor negotiations. I would rate my experience around 6.5/10.
