Yay for first post (or not...).
Just recently picked up my 2015 Mazda 3 GS-Sport from Achilles Mazda and i have a set of winters from my old car.
Will 225/55/17 be okay for my 3? I realize it's size bigger but i'm trying to save money here...since i only used the set for one season.
The tire calculators are saying they're a 4% difference from my stocks.
Anyway, input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If the rims fit, I don't see much of a problem. Technically, you want a narrower tire for snow, but this should work.

225/45/17 is the correct size but since they're a little bigger your odometer will look better later I guess lol

Oh right. Crap. I should have mentioned that they're actually staggered.
225/50/17 and 225/55/17...still okay? And which ones should go in the front?
Sorry for the auto-noob questions and thanks for the input so far :)

So you're trying to run 2 different sized tires? Highly do not recommend it but you can (shouldn't) get away with running the two same size tires on the front and rear... fronts should be the same, rears should be the same.
Do not put 1 225/50 and 1 225/55 on the front.
The 225/55 is 22mm (almost an inch ) taller than the 225/50.
You only normally see staggered wheels on performance RWD vehicles for the extra grip in the rear on dry road. Quite the opposite for winter and FWD cars.
I would really advise against it, but if you run staggered your 225/50 should be in the front.

Yeah i meant my set is staggered so, two are 225/50 and the other two are 225/55. Sorry for the confusion haha.
Anyway, thanks for the input! Looks like i will put them up for sale.

Running two different tire sizes will mess with the ABS and TPMS.
Sell them and put the money to a new set.

Staggered? Winter? Say no to staggered on FWD. And what you have is not so much staggered as it is mismatched.
Sell them on Kijiji, and buy a proper set for your car.
