Hi guys,

I just purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 GX hatchback with 150k mileage from a used car dealership. They're offering a Lubrico warranty that covers pretty much all mechanical/electrical parts etc. Does anyone have any experience with Lubrico and if they give a hard time with claims? I'm trying to search on google but surprisingly there isn't much recent feedback. Wanted to know whether i should go for it or not, being offer $500 for one year, $700 for 2 years coverage and i have to decide by monday. Thanks for the help.

I would decline it and put that $700 into future repairs or a decent set of tires.
I also think 150k is quite high for a 2010. Hope you got a great deal. Sorry don't know about Lubrico.

Yeah it was quite a good deal i got it for $7900 + tax, the car looks brand new despite the relatively high mileage. Just one drawback, it's making that slight gurgling noise between 1500-2000 rpm which seems to be a quite common problem. Didn't spot it on the test drive unfortunately. Seems to be the belt tensioner, which is quite a cheap part. Will see if they're willing to replace it.

Forget the warranty, it's useless and quite pricey. I'm speaking from general experience, but unless you can provide the actual contract, I have no reason to believe this one is any different from the others. Read it carefully and I'm positive there are some stringent requirement for this warranty, or a deductible for every visit or a list of things not covered or a combination of all these things. The fact that you said it covers "pretty much everything" is a red flag to me. It means you have not read the contract carfully.
