Hey ,
so I will post the mods on my 2008 mazdaspeed 3I have made and tell you the issues.
1. removed stock seat belt and now using 4 point driver seat only
2.removed stock steering wheel and replaced with aftermarket racing wheel
So I have two lights that stay on due to these for sure. My SRS light stays on all the time. after installing the new steering wheel, the tcs light which is the car with the lines below it stays on. I cant get rid of either one. I am worried now if my traction control is compromised.
i know there is a trick around this so can anyone please help me out?
also at times under heavy acceleration the car just jerks and then keeps on going. not a clutch slip but sorta cuts on. Fuel pump cant keep up maybe??
Thanks for any help you all can offer.

breakfasteatre or CelestSpeed3 might be able to chime in on the seat issue. The racing wheel, not sure if any of our MS3 members have changed wheels.
With regard to the jerking under acceleration, what engine mods do you have ? Do you have an AP you can post a log from ?

yes i do, i can log the data to find the issue. my engine is modded full exhaust and intake but stock internals and turbo. We had an issue going over 350hp with stock HPFP.
any ideas for the seat? maybe some kind of resistor etc

So you want power with 2 mods and no upgraded HPFP? Then You wonder about the stutter after trying to make more than 350hp? Something doesn't sound right.
Your traction light problem is because of the clock spring that is missing. I believe the "fix" you are referring to is shutting on and off the sensor for track use and for road driving. I remember seeing that DIY a while back. Can't remember what it did exactly though. I'll see if I can find it
If you wish to turn off the airbag light you will need to use resistors for the seat and for the steering wheel. I don't know the ohms you will require. We tried several variations on celestespeed3's car and never got it right. By no means do I suggest you try this but if you want to figure the correct ohms you will have to check the airbags themselves. You will require a very good meter but again I do NOT recommend you try this. EXTREMELY dangerous

whats at risk by using the resistors? air bags going off etc. I just wanna sure that i have traction control when i need it with the tsc light being on all the time etc

Using the resistors is fine, however measuring the airbags themselves to get the correct ohm resistances is the dangerous part. There is always a chance they could blow while testing. Hence I do NOT recommend testing the bags themselves. As a tech I have done it 2 times because I had to and it's nerve wrecking. I've intentionally blown warranty return bags and the energy behind them is intense.
If you really want your traction to be restored then you will require the steering angle sensor. You could always tuck it behind the dash but then the car would think its always driving in a straight line. Not sure if there would be any repercussions by this. After all your car does straight ahead driving most of the time.

use 2.5 ohm resistors.. beware of the shorting bars that are part of the airbag connectors, with those in place, they will cause the light to come on despite having something connected to them

what was going over 350hp?

When I am testing a car for airbag lights, I use a 2.2ohm resistor. Works fine. If you put one on the seat air bag wires that will be fine. Not sure which wires for the clock spring plug make the light go out, I only ever test on the actual clock spring wires to the bag, not down the clock spring.
But anyways, a 2.2ohm will work. Not sure about your traction, but I know it turns the light on when you have the airbag module removed, so maybe same things happens with the clock spring.

I think he ment 250hp on the stock HPFP... I hope... this thread is full of fail.

no i mean 350hp. HPFP goes in this week to solve any fuel flow restriction issues.

Sorry, other engine mods do include full front mount intercooler, aem CAI, Turbosmart dual BOV, HPFP this Friday and down pipe and full exhaust.
Its been working out just fine.

You have no idea what you are getting yourself into yet... You need to do more research. Your OEM HPFP is a ticking time bomb at higher than stock boost levels.
The upgraded one is a great idea, but you will never get to 350whp without E85 on a stock turbo.... INB4 bent rod/cracked ringlands/vented block
Issues a side, who has been telling you the car is making 350whp or even 350 at the crank?
Butt dyno?

350hp on stock turbo!? Stupid me had to spend some decent cash on a bigger turbo to get those numbers. I should have went to your tuner, could have saved a lot of money.

omg this just gets out of hand. it is going back on the dyno for tuning in march i will post all results.
so hold off your smart ass remarks because obviously you all know more than anyone who ever lived
these are not impossible figures. but like i said before if your going to bitch about the mods i need then buy them for me if it will make you feel better if not shut it

If it were possible, it would have been done by someone/everyone on here.

To get 350 whp you are gonna need more torque at the top of the RPM band, which the K04 does not produce due to it becoming a red hot flame thrower.
The compressor housing is too much of a restriction to flow enough g/s at high rpms, plus it gets hot at the higher rpms so it just begins to fall on it's face.
If the dyno is reading out those kind of numbers it definitely is a little on the high side. They are not impossible figures, but for your mods and fueling it is not likely.

maybe at the crank with mustang dyno. you will be the first person with an ms3 to achieve this. no one wishes you bad luck. so dont take it personal when some of us dont believe its possible with your current mods.
just curious, what were the previous dyno results if you still have them?
also, no one likes being taken advantage of, or being lied to by their tuners. it happens.

I'm used to seeing this crap on a damn Facebook page...but rarely here. Ok. So. I can garantee that your car isn't making 350hp (crank or the wheels). Secondly, your car is gonna blow up, maybe your buttdyno makes it seem like it's making 350hp as it's running made lean and pulling like crazy. That stutter feeling is your car taking a shit during a WOT pull as it sees fuel pressure drop below its threshold. It's called fuel cut. We have all seen this happen before, turbo spools, draws fuel, not enough fuel....ZZB. if you don't want a bunch of dash lights....then why install belts and an aftermarket wheel? Btw...get a harness bar before you break your back. I'm guessing you put the "racing harness" in and mounted to the stock location on the bottom and over the back of the seat to the seat bolts for the front seat right? Imagine getting into an accident. That seat would fold...so would your body.

Would like to see mod list.. I'm 25whp off your power.

I would also like to know the tuner. Here's my guess. Stock 235whp. Add intake and tip +30hp. Add turbo back exhaust +40hp Add fmic +20hp. Add bov + 20hp add AP "stage 2" map. That's at least 350whp right!?

Ok folks, point made. Clearly there is a disconnect between what the OP was lead to believe, and actual numbers. Now let's move past that, and see if we can help the OP, then get him on the right path.

Ok I'll spoon feed the proper answer.
Get rid of the "racing harness". It's ricey and HIGHLY dangerous.
swap out the steering wheel back to stock if you are worried about the lights on the dash. If not, just get used to them.
Buy damn fuel pump internals. Autotechs are what I recommend. If you need help or want someone to install them, PM me, I've done many sets.
That should fix all your issues.

wow. whly fak. missed that he took out the stock seatbelt. pretty sure you get an automatic ticket for that if your pulled over. insurance may not be covered with an aftermarket wheel. plus no airbag, u dead bro.

Ya. Friend of mine thought it was a good idea to do the same. Got a ticket for the seatbelt then a slap from me for hooking it up to the seat mounting bolts. Idiot.

Ok so here are the mods and a dump has been done. So let's end this. I was completely wrong you guys were completely right. The mods as of now are AEM CAI, autotech fuel pump internals, front mount intercooler, cobb down pipe, high flow cat with full cat back exhaust, stock turbo and custom tune. That's just the engine. I'm running 338wbh. Not the 350. As for the nitrous comment yes I had a 25 shot I put in. I have now removed it after almost blowing up the engine. This a hobby for me but yes things can go very very wrong.
But my torque was between 355-360 roughly.
I am going back to APH for a new tune in March and I will post the results.
So far no fuel cut off or any issues. It's been running great.
Also the comment which said this guy tried to instal nitrous. If it's the guy from the maDa dealer. He actually gave me advice and help on the install. Maybe the advice should of been don't do it. It's out now so nobody panic
Back to my question on removing the airbag light and traction control light with after market wheel
Anyone have any advice on taking care of such an issue?

Not to many successful NOS builds out there I don't think.
A little research goes a long way. All this information is out there. Try searching.

man, Brian (APH) must have found a new way to make more power. :D
very curious to see the dyno graph after you get it done.

The traction control and stability is controlled by the speed and angle of the wheels. But once one of the two sensors is disconnected, the whole system shuts down. Your SWAS (steering wheel angle sensor) isnt reading anything as the factor wheel and hub are not present anymore. The sensor has no idea in what direction the wheels are pointed, so it won't have any input to "save" you in a slide situation using the DSC system.
