Hi,
My car has recently started making a knocking noise which sounds like it is coming from the front passenger side wheel. Under acceleration and braking the sound goes away..coasting is the only time I hear the knock, both in gear and in neutral. I changed the brake pads and when doing so I check the CV axle for play. The passenger side axle seems to have a lot more axial play than the diver side which reinforces my initial thoughts that the cause may be a worn axle.
I plan on replacing the axle but was wondering if anyone had any tips for this? Or maybe you've had the same issue and the solution wasn't the axle..I'd like to hear how you solved the problem.
If I do move forward with the axle, any idea where the best place to buy one is that I can get it fairly quick?
