not sure if this is the right place to post this. i have noticed just in the the last two weeks my radio has been giving me a static popping noise while im listening to fm radio . it doesnt seem to matter what station im listening to they all do it.it happens while im crusing at constant speed but as soon as i push the gas peddle down the noise fades away , and comes back when when i start to let up on the peddle . im not sure if it does it on AM band and i havent noticed it while playing a cd. does anyone know what this could be ? or is anyone having the same issue? my car is a 2010 2.0L and the stereo and speakers are completely stock.

Is everything else completely stock?

I get a lot more static in Ajax also compared to Toronto.

i have an intake and an axle back exhaust . everything else is completely stock. i work in scarborough and its the same sound. only time sound goes away is when i push the accelerator more than a 1/4 of the way down and comes back when i let off or im barley giving it gas.

I also get this issue with some radio stations but it gets resolved when im on the accelerator.

My car is also stock.

That is bizarre... two people with an issue that is solved the same way, can't be a coincidence. Doesn't make sense to me though, I would think it would be the opposite if anything - i.e pressing gas = more current through the circuits = EMI issues

Is your antenna screwed on tight still? lol... maybe its loose and the acceleration gives it better contact :P
Might check the connection at the radio as well.

-edit-
Just had a thought that makes more sense. Maybe a powered wire is close to the antenna wire, and accelerating causes them to move apart slightly and resolves the issue. When you're checking your radio->antenna connection maybe move the wires around a bit if possible to make sure nothing is touching the antenna coax cable

no hid's .my antenna is in my back window . where would i look to check those connections you were talking about . would i find it in the trunk area or under the dash behind the radio itself?
