Something fell off my car...

I was pulling into my driveway this morning and saw a piece of metal on the spot where I park the car. It is somewhat rusted. It is about a meter long, and inch wide. There is an angled bend in this length of metal and several holes which look like they would be for putting screws through but none of them are damaged. I looks like it might have come from the underside of my car. What part might this be? Sorry, I cannot upload a picture at the moment.

Skid plate part?

I know exactly what that is. Mine fell off too (almost).

It goes on the back of the skid plate under the car. It holds the shape of the skid plate (and maybe helps keep the plastic from breaking) at the rear side of the car, just behind the engine and transmission.

If you take the skid plate off, you should see where it goes along the back. It runs between the driver and passenger side doors.

I had to zip tie mine back on because a couple of the rivets let go. I've been meaning to take it into the shop and rivet it back together, but the zip ties have worked really well so far :)

FYI when you put it back on, it's kind of a U shaped channel, and the flared edges point up, not down.

Its a part of the skid tray. Mine came off last year and was dragging on the ground creating sparks. Ripped it off, drove home.

Resolved the issue with my phone connection to my computer so I can now post a picture of the mystery part, It looks more rusted than I thought. The underside of my car is not rusted like that in general. My hope now is that it is not a car part, but I doubt that.

What year is your car? Might be covered under warranty still.

looks like the part on the skid plate. mines rusted too... guess itll fall off any day now
