Hey guys,

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned in a previous post.

Firstly, I have the 2004 Sedan GT and it looks like it has projector headlights. Does that mean it also has HID bulbs? When looking at them and comparing them to pictures they don't quite look as white as others.

Furthermore, if I were to install HID's (if doesn't have). Is it possible to install Angel Eyes, make those my DRLs and then have the HID's for night? Would that cause any complications or simply just needing to wire them properly.

1. You would need a kit, check out our sponsors.

2. Angel eyes would require you to bake your lamp open, again sponsors can do it for you or you can DIY. Angel eyes for DRLs and HIDs for night is fine, many people have it.

1. A relay kit.

2. If you don't like the idea of baking your headlights in the oven, can always go for a heat gun. Worked for me.

To see if you have HID's, do you see a ballast coming off of the wires that plug into your headlights?
If so, you have HID's, if not you have halogens.

What jeffjones said or if you can't figure that out take a picture of the headlight (with lights on) and someone should be able to tell

Or use these pictures as reference:

With 4300k hid:

Hyperion does this and some other cool headlight mods if you don't feel comfortable baking open your headlight. Look him up on here.

I wanted the same thing, ended up doing Halo's wired to the parking light at first (on any time the car was on) and disabled the DRL's by taking out the fuse, but then I changed it to a rocker switch so I could control when they were on or off. as for if you have HID's or not, you probably don't but all the other posts have good advice for you.

I see in a lot of the posts that everyone disables their HID's from being DRLs or mods their fogs to act as DRLs. How come you can't just swap the halogen bulb for HID's, but instead have to re-wire it all? Aka. How come you can't just have HID's acting as DRLs as your regular halogens might?

They run a either at 6V or a 12v pulse type signal, to lower the brightness of the halogens, but HID's need a steady 12V in order to stay lit or else they will flicker and burn out very quickly.
You can also rectify this with a wiring relay harness that pulls the 12V straight from your battery when signaled to or in line capacitors that will give them a constant 12V. These 2 methods will make it so you have HID's regardless of if your in DRL or Lo beam modes.

I did my own angel eyes and blacked out headlights, very easy.. Have done some too for a few members here and people outside of tm3.. Give it a try, perhaps on a spare set.
As far as angel eyes for drl's, I would not recommend it as you won't have at the night when they are at their best.
You can hook up to signal wires (3 wires) one wire is a neg. one is constant power and other is for the signal itself..
Cut the constant power and hook angel eyes to it, and don't hook back up to signal path. Negative you can. This lets your signals still blink and when you turn on constant corner lights it will turn on angel eyes.
Or you can runs a separate switch to turn on or off whenever..
