HID question

Hi, I just want to know, I have a working ballast from one company and I need to replace one of my bulbs. Do i need to buy the same company bulb as the same company ballast? Or can I get it from another brand. If i can, any recommendation on which brand is good and long lasting? I am looking for a different brand because this old one dies on me every winter....

It should work regardless of brand. Its probably ideal to stick to a single brand for both. When my ballast went, I just used another ballast from an old kit and it worked fine however on occasion when turning them on, one side wouldn't turn on unless I turned it back off and on again. I think it may have been due to having different brands hooked up. But I don't know for sure.

I don't have a brand to recommend though as I haven't been wowed by any I've had in terms of performance - they've lasted long but they aren't better than stock.

Just make sure you know if you have AC or DC ballasts.

I have all the same brand Ballasts and bulbs but the low beams are fine, but the fog lights only one will turn on sometimes I would have to turn it off and back on again for it to light up

Nope I didn't bother I've learned that if I turn my low beams on first without the fogs on and turn the fogs on later then it powers up just fine
