I was planning on changing my headlight assembly, but today I noticed this. There's frost on the inside of my current headlight. This can't be normal can it...?

There was a recall for 2010 headlights. Not sure about other years. What year is yours?

Mine is a 2010 GT. Not sure if it's only for GT.

Different recall for the GT's. Doesn't effect your car.
It means you have condensation, and that condensation is now frost. If you're still within warranty, it should be covered. However that isn't bad enough for Mazda to warranty it. You need to have a lot of water inside to qualify.
Your options are buy a new set, or open them up yourself and reseal them.
Alternatively, you can try to do a little doctoring by putting Silicone packets in through the low beam caps that you just pull off. It falls down under everything and absorbs the condensation. And you can just leave it in.

Its a 2010 GX, and I called Mazda and they said my car isn't covered with the recall. It's the headlight I need to change anyways, it's all hazy compared to my driver side one since they replaced it after my accident. New lamp is on it's way. Going to be changing it soon!

My 2012's headlights had frost in the exact same spot the other morning... both sides. First time I had ever seen any signs of condensation. I've never had the headlights out, or anything. Perhaps some residual moisture that got in while changing bulbs, and couldn't handle the -24* temps in North of the GTA!?
