I need some help… BADLY! I purchased the following:
Compustar FT-7200S-CONT
Compustar RF-2WG9 Remote Kit
iDatalink Blade TB

I then had it professionally installed into a 2009 Mazda 3 GT (automatic transmission with no smart key). Everything has been great with the exception of a couple of times. Once in a blue moon it seems like the panic alarm goes off when a door or truck gets opened. Previously I’ve had the factory key fob laying around and pressing the unlock button on it stops the alarm.

Fast forward to today. I’m now away on a trip and the car is doing this panic thing every single time a door is opened. I have no clue what’s going on and I don’t have the factory key fob to press the unlock button on. I have pressed the unlock on the new compustar one and it does nothing. I’ve also tried starting the car and pressing the lock/unlock button in the actual car but neither stops it. It will stop after about 10-15 seconds, but will immediately start again if a door is opened.

The battery did die on the car about a month ago, but it was fine up until now. I can’t get it to stop. Is there some combination or key presses or something I need to do? Any ideas what could be wrong? I have done some reading, but most people say it is a hood pin issue or maybe the battery is pooched. No clue.

I’m lost here guys. Is there any way to turn off this “alarm” or whatever has been activated? Thanks!

I think you should go back to the business that installed it.

Haha. That's the plan whenever I get home. For now I may be pulling a horn fuse. Do all Mazda 3s have a factory alarm? He said mine didn't when he installed the remote start. Maybe that is is the problem, but it did work perfectly up until now. Weird.

Yes, your 2009 GT has a factory alarm. There is also no way to turn it off as far as I am aware.

Unlock the car using your key not the remote it should disarm the alarm, but I would suggest going back to the installer and make them to hook up the arm disarm wires into the factory alarm as it is your only protection from people breaking into your car.

So turning on the car did nothing, but using the key in the drivers side door to unlock fixed up my issue. Car is back to 100% now. I'll still need to contact the installer to add the alarm disarm or whatever to my system. Ugh. Thanks everyone!
