hey everybody I hope someone can help me with my problem, I have a 2004 Mazda 3 hatch and my rear driver side door won't open at all and as a father its kind of hard to get to my kid when he's crying I have to walk all the way around to see what's wrong lol .I have been looking all over online to see if I can fix the problem and I cant find anything I really don't want to go to the dealership , I was able to remove the door panel and I think the issue is with the door actuator .My problem is I no I have to remove the three bolts that hold the door actuator ,but I cant access it due to the door is locked close lol.
please help!!!

Can you clarify "door won't open"?

Is the door lock not unlocking when you press unlock from the driver's door or with the remote?

Is the door not able to be opened from outside?

There is a switch that is supposed to make the door childproof in that it cannot be opened from the inside preventing a child from accidentally opening and falling out of the door.

We need more details to be able to try and point you in the right direction.

Sorry about that yes the door doesn't unlock when I press the remote or from the driver side door ,also it doesn't open from the outside. And when I try to manually unlock from the door the switch doesn't budge

The cable that the lock hooks into may have come out if you've had the door panel off. Similar thing happened to me when I changed the speakers on my front doors, I couldn't open them from the outside and had to crawl over from the passenger side to get in.

If I were you I'd try taking the door panel off one more time and trying to get those cables in secure, they are deceiving.

I removed the panel and everything is in place the cable that attaches to the lock button is very tight and the cable that is attached to the handle is ok .maybe that cable is seized is there a way I can lubricate it? And hopefully get it moving so I can open the door

It should be quite easy to tell if the cable is seized as it moves forward and backward, I believe one is in a sleeve partly. If you can't see it move when you hit the unlock/lock button there is probably another issue

rockauto.com lists it from $54-$91. You should check that website for OEM parts to get an idea of pricing. Contact one of the sponsored dealerships and they may be able to help you out CarLadyLisa
