Hi I just noticed the tires on the front of my car and they look like this:

Driver side

Passenger side

the rear side tires look all the same as the driver side except for my passenger side tire which looks pretty much worn out, is this due to improper wheel alignment? :bang

That looks more like a underinflated wear pattern. How often you check your tire pressure and/ or rotate them?

As for checking the tire pressure I only do this every time I change oil :( tire rotation I think once every year was that enough?

SonicBoy:
Yes! Time for some new tires.

should I change the front tires first or all of them as I notice the rear and the driver side look exacly same except for the passenger side.

CarLadyLisa: I do have a 17" tires can you direct me to that site? Im looking for an all season tires :bang

Thank you for the suggestion does wheel alignment and wheel balancing required after change tire?

If you rears look like that definitely replace all 4. You also don't have a lot of tread left where it isn't bald - tires look done to me.

I personally don't like seeing mismatched tires on a car... YOu can also try out Kijiji and buy used tires. Snagged a like new pair of Cooper CS4's for my mother on Kijiji (10/32s) for only $400.

You should be rotating your tires at every oil change or 8k. You should also be checking your tire pressures atleast once a month, and visually inspecting them every time you fuel up...Atleast that's what I was taught. :)

With a new tire purchase, they will be balanced and it is good practice to have an alignment done at the same time...actually a must if you want your tires to last.

If you can afford it, replace all 4.

Generally you want the stability at all 4 corners to be the same.

Better to start out with a fresh pair all around and then ensure you check the pressure regularly and rotate them to keep wear even all around.

Nice example. I always keep a tire gauge in my car - check the tires once a month just to be sure there's no issues - always takes a minute or two tops

Which reminds me, I need to buy a tire gauge. I was driving on under-inflated tires this whole winter. Boyfriend swapped my summer/winter set and didn't check, and I didn't notice it until winter was pretty much over. I'm afraid to check if my winter tires are ruined lol

Tsk Tsk, swap tires and no check pressures...; )

You need two gauges; Pressure gauge and depth gauge to keep a good eye on your tires.

A point I forgot to mention on my earlier post is anytime you have drastic changes in ambient temperatures from one day to another, tire pressures should be check more often.
