Was this me being just a real idiot or is my battery just faulty..?

I was cleaning my car today while installing my new car seat covers, when I left my stereo playing while the key was turned all the way before ignition. (I know dumb right) I had doors swung open the whole time, and the stereo stopped playing after an hour or so. When I try to start the car I get this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REqTAvp_lSU

Tried Jumpstarting it, and it was a no go. There's very little corrosion on the battery terminals so I don't think thats causing it. If I had a multimeter I could check for ohms but I couldn't get one for today. I just bought this battery 2 years ago shortly after we had that ice storm. (Replaced my OEM battery for that Eliminator brand battery from Canadian tire.. )

Around October last year, the battery discharged itself too after filling up over at a gas station. I had to push my car out of the way, got a boost from a van, and got it back to running condition.

Does this sound like a faulty battery or did I really kill it from all the dumb shennenigans I was doing?

Corrosion is corrosion, pull off the connectors and clean them. make sure the battery is fully charged on a bench unit.

Also make sure the battery isnt expanded. If there's any kind of expansion in the battery it is toast.

One failure mode a battery can go through is if an internal plate develops a bad connection. With no load (off), the battery will read around 12V nomimal, but the instant you ask for high current (starter) the bad connection heats up, becomes too resistive and simulates a dead battery.

I bet the battery is bad. To be honest I never had good experiences with Motomaster batteries. And a battery should not "die" and discharge itself when just filling up gas. My factory original Panasonic battery is 5 years old and stilll works like a charm and I have *zero* corrosion. Terminals/connectors look pristine.

If your battery has the 3 yr full replacement, I would take it in to Crappy Tire and they will check it for you and replace if needed. If it's bad but you only get a prorated amount I would just replace it with a 24F Kirkland from Costco.

Let us know how it works out.
