Hello,

I just replaced the ballast on passenger side of my 2008 Mazda 3 GT. I found there was a lot of condensation all around the wires that connect to the ballast. I ran the hair drier for a good 10 mins right on top of the connector, wires and inside the whole that goes into the headlight. Low beam HID was not turning on so I'm guessing the moisture was damaging or had already damaged the ballast, it's now working so at least thats solved.

Now I just noticed the motor to adjust the headlight doesn't work. =/

Can that part be replaced? I also notice that the bulb is not as bright as the drivers side.

Could these ^^ be a result of the condensation as well? Or is it one of those that either the bulb works or doesnt? Same for the level motor could the condensation have damaged it also?

Sounds like it might be time to visit the scrap yard.

its not possible to replace just the motor? or could I unplug the wire to the motor and adjust manual and leave it there. I mean - set level switch to position 0, unplug the connector to the adjusting motor, adjust manual with screw, then leave it?

Maybe. Motor just moves the adjustment screw for you. But they don't sell just the motor to my knowledge

if you took the headlamp assembly off your car, then you need to aim it again anyway

The headlight leveling motor is serviceable, available online or like hyperion said, time to visit the scrapyard.
