Hey guys, finally joined up on this forum after browsing for a while.

Background info:

2004 Mazda 3 sedan
2.0L auto
250,000km on it.

On the highway I get just under 500km or so before the fuel light comes on, so about 46 liters. That's 9.2l/100km.

Mind you, the stereo system is a good 300-400lb which I figured would make a huge impact, but when I removed it a while back for a few months, it barely made a difference, no more then 5-10% or so.

And I drive at around 120-125km/h on average, but also don't expect it to make such a massive drop in fuel economy.

In the city I get around 320-350km, (around 280-300 in the winter if I'm lucky) also from about 46 liters. That's around 14l/100km in the summer, and 16l/100km in the winter. Brutal... :(

The acceleration rate seems very sluggish (even when the system was out), the car used to be very peppy. Someone mentioned my cat might be on it's last legs.

Any tips folks? I've checked the MAF sensor (clean) and cleaned the throttle cam flap (after 30 minutes of scrubbing I discovered it was silver and not black)

P0446. Used to come on every couple years, then every couple months, now every couple days.
