Hey guys,

So I am having issues with my tail and license plate light not turning on when I turn on my head lights. All other lights work which is the funniest thing, so a couple weeks ago I went to the dealership to have it diagnosed and they indicated that it was my PJB box after making me wait 7 hours!.

But every time when my tail lights are not working I give my PJB box a little hit and voila!! it turns on, it's just really inconvenient for me to hit the PJB box every time I need my tail and license plate lights. So my question to anyone on this forum, do you think its really my PJB box or a connector issue?

There is a fuse in there that works the tail lights (do your parking lights shut off too?)

Also, first gen or second gen?

Hi Reddie,

I currently drive a 2005 Mazda 3 Gen 1. My rear parking and license plate lights do not turn on when head light switch is turned on, all other lights function normal. But when I give the pjb fuse box under the glove the rear parking and license plate lights are working. Do you think this is a pjb fuse box or a connector issue?

You could try undoing the plugs to the PJB and spraying contact cleaner in them. If that doesn't solve it on it's own, then i would suggest maybe the PJB, but they are not overly difficult to do, and I am sure the scrap yard would have a bunch of them.

Hi Reddie,

Thanks for your advice, just want to give you an update that I purchased a used PJB box and saved tones of money compared to what the dealership was offering. Now my lights and vehicle is fully functional.

*Cheers*
