2012 Mazda 3 GS-SKY (6 manual)
ODO= 70000KM

Today, I found that my belt has a crack.

I heard that most of rubber belts for engine has connection point.

Belt is connected to each other in order to make circle.

In your opinion, My alternator drive belt is okay?

I would get it replaced. Cost like under 20 bucks for the belt I believe and replacing it is fast.

Need two belts... AC and Serpentine belt. Can't replace just the serpentine belt without replacing the AC belt.

Can pick them both up for $40 and DIY in about 30 mins.

Otherwise just go to the independent shop.

I dont have tools.
I really want to DIY for my car.
It is really good way to learn how to replace parts and save $$.

Well you can start buying tools ON SALE to get started.

Canadian tire always has socket sets and screw drivers on sale to start... Then start looking at jackstands and jacks, electric impact wrench, torque wrench and breaker bar.

This job doesn't absolutely require any special tool if you don't mind a busted knuckle or two, but it makes KT easier if u get a stretch belt installation tool.

Should be plenty of threads and/or vids showing you how to do the job.

Seriously...just get the belts (yes both replace them together) and a new tensioner pulley (~$20) and go to Jimmy

Good idea for changing after 100k, but $140+ tax is ridiculous. Each belt will cost you about $20 to $40 each depending on Mazda OEM or third party. Unless there is a problem with the tensioner, you don't need to replace it - just the tension pulley is a good idea. Go to Jimmy with everything and you are laughing.

Mazda OEM Parts= $80 for two belts

There is no crack inside belt.

The outside crack is in belt connection point.
