Hi guys,
My 2006 Mazda 3 (non-Bose) is missing its rear speakers (they weren't included with the car). Any idea where I can pick up standard OEM/stock rear speakers? I haven't had much luck look looking on eBay.
I don't really have any interest in doing any custom install, baffles, etc. that aftermarket speakers seem to need. I really just want speakers in the back, doesn't much matter what kind!
I'm assuming the factory speakers would be easiest to install. Failing that, what's the easiest/cheapest kind of speaker I can install back there?
Thanks!

I've also heard that rear speakers can actually make the sound worse? That doesn't seem right, but what's the general opinion on that?
5x7, or the equivalent 6x9 (I believe) size is what you're looking for. Aftermarket vs OEM has no difference in terms of ease of install.
I'm sure you'd be able to find someone on here selling a pair of aftermarket rear speakers, or someone who has upgraded and has their OEM ones kicking around. If I was you though, and you're paying for speakers, I'd probably look into buying even the cheapest set of aftermarket ones you can. The OEM ones are fairly garbage, especially if old/used. Good luck!

6x8** 6x9 won't fit for sure.
Some aftermarket need to have trimming done to incorporate them. I've found a better than stock speaker for a Mazda 3 is a 2008 Ford Escape speaker. Bolts right up, and plugs right in. Check some auto wreckers for them. Www.car-part.com

Ah, thanks for the correction.
Hmm good to know about the Ford Escape ones. Maybe they're a bit better in terms of sound too? Could be something for other members to take advantage of. A cheap alternative to slightly better sound. Or just a replacement even.

2011 has a different plug
The escape has a much bigger magnet on the back, so I would hope it has better sound quality :P

That's good to know about the Escape speakers! Is any custom work necessary or do you just put them in the door panel? Sorry I'm pretty new to this speaker installation business.
