2014 USB Charging - Extremely slow

I noticed this morning on my 30 minute drive to work that my phone only charged a few %. Bluetooth was on but otherwise not in use...

The charger that came with my phone is rated at 2.1a. Anybody know what the output is for the 2 USB ports?

Please forgive me if this has already been discussed... Search function didn't seem to be that great using Tapatalk on my phone...

It's possible it's really low. My phone charges really slowly when connected to my work computer. Some ports are really just designed for data transfer.

If the port is designed for a USB stick and not to charge your phone it will have the standard 500ma usb output.

If you've got a big-ass phone that will take a 2.1a charger you're best off using one designed for your phone to charge from the cigarette lighter.

+1 To what was said above. its not made to charge. although you'd think it would be since there is 2 plugs (2015+ at least)

my phone actually went down in battery charge with the bluetooth on when plugged in. i just got a good 2.1 a charger and the phones charge in there. simple and fast

I would recommend Canada Computers, they have dual port (2.4A and 1.0A) with usb cable chargers for $15.

Looks like the one at Best Buy I had my eye on is no longer on sale (would have been $10, 2.1A/1.0A dual port)
Oh, well...I'll have a look to see what's in stock at my local CC this weekend

Don't know what became of your USB search, but I bought one off of Amazon. This guy (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00LJK4HL8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00) has 4 ports and can charge all at the same time at 2.4A simultaneously, great for road trips.
