I noticed this past Friday the weight sensor for the passenger seat is intermittently malfunctioning. I can tell because usually the seat belt light will turn on if the seat belt is clicked in and someone is sitting there and if i unbuckle their seat belt while during it still doesn't light up or ding (which is always did before). But I said it is an intermittent problem because these problems come and go. But this is a serious problem because according to the owners manual the air bag will not deploy on the passenger side if the weight sensor doesn't anything at all (page 5-56 of the mazda 3 2010 manual).

I brought my car in this morning (they still have it) but of course everything "appears" to working so I told them test it through the day since its there but I truly think they don't fully understand what my complaint is really about since the information they gave me is completely opposite of what the owners manual states.

What can I do?

keep your phone/camera ready. When it starts to happen start recording it. If they're not getting it, this may help them.

How difficult is it to remove the sensor? If it turns out needing replacing, i have one around.
