Hi everyone! This is my first post here.
In early 2013 I purchased a new 2012 Mazda 3GS Skyactive. It currently has 25,000 kms and I have had all the recommended maintenance service done at the dealership.
Here's my issue:
I just had the 48,000 kms service done. While waiting for the car, the "service advisor" told me that I needed to have my brake fluid flushed...that it is a "bit dirty and sticky, and we usually recommend it be done every two years" and it would cost an extra $160.00+. I told him I couldn't afford to have it done today. He said have it done next time. He gave me the completed Mazda Vehicle Health Check and there was nothing on it to indicate that there were any problems or work to be done whatsoever.
I asked him to make a note to me about the brake fluid flush and the cost. He took back my copy of the paid invoice and wrote on it "brake fluid flush = $160.+"
Do I need to have this flush done now? What would make the fluid a bit dirty and sticky at 25,000 kms?
Unfortunately for me I am not very assertive when it comes to dealing with the health of my car.
