Just looking for everyone's opinion... I have already put in 6000k HID's in my 06 Mazda 3, and I am going to do the same to the fog lights, but I cannot decide which would look better; either the same 6000k HID, or golden yellow 3000k HIDs that I have seen on other cars.

What do you guys think? Has anyone done either of these? What do you recommend? Thanks.

Sorry, the title should read 06* Mazda 3 , not 09

depends on the look your trying to go for. if you want a classic look then go for a yellow, but if you want a clean look then go with the same color.

I've always found that in inclement weather especially, yellow fog lights provide more contrast. Things like road lines & sides are just a bit easier to see. And in the event you're actually driving in fog (assuming fog lights only) there's less glare. I have always personally preferred yellow.

You could consider going with the white bulbs, but yellow Lamin-X on the fogs. That gets you the added protection up front, and if you decide you don't like the yellow you can swap out the Lamin-X for clear (or some other funky color, not recommended) way cheaper than new bulbs.

^ thats a good route. I pull yellow film on my fogs. I can tell that they've stopped a few stones and when they get bad enough, i'll peel them and put more on.

I got an 06' as well and i am running 6000k in my lowbeams and 3000k in my fogs. The 3000k bulbs give much more light than the 6000k. I also have lamin-x yellow film in the fogs as well for looks and to prevent stone chips. It all depends on what suits your style.

youll probably see a 50-50 sway.some like the contrast and some want it all the same.no right or wrong.all comes down to preference.

Either way you go, after a while you'll probably be sick with the look and want to change.

From what I see, the more modified members go with the 3k yellow contrast.

I agree, Its the lumens that is the amount of light coming from the bulb. Traditionally the higher the K, the lower the lumens.
