So my engine blew up and I got my mechanic to get a used one put in. Got my car back last week and its running but the car does NOT pull or accelerate as hard as it use to.

Especially when I am on the highway when I put my foot all the way down on the gas. The car just makes really loud hissing/sucking noises which it didn't when I had my original engine(not as loud) and it barely goes pass 140 on 5th gear...

Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? Fuel pump is dead? Leak somewhere ? I don't have any way to log my stats so if i can't fix this i guess i may need to take it into Mazda :(

My mods are, Cobb SIR, Race pipe and hypertune.

well for 1.. your speeding. :complain
2 did you talk to your mechanic and ask him why your cars running like shit?
3 if you paid him I would have gone there first.
4 have you looked at it?
5 can you hear this hissing sucking noise ( after the mrs. gets out of the car?) at idle on a rev or do you need to be flooring it / driving the car under load?
6 I would start looking for leaks. everything that bolts to the block. intake. pipes. everything. but do all of this after 7
7 TAKE IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHO INSTALLED IT!!! WHY ARE YOU WASTING TIME ON HERE ASKING US. TAKE IT TO THE TECH WHO PUT IT IN!! NO FORUM ADVICE IS GOING TO HELP YOU. GO BACK TO WHO DID THE WORK AND STOP WASTING TIME! :facepalm
8 IF... all else fails.. take it to a dealer.. they usually know what they are doing ;)
9 GOOD LUCK!

Firstly, thanks for the reply. To answer a few questions, not in any particular order because I'm on my phone... Yes I have spoken to the mechanic and I am taking my car in Monday but I thought I post here because there maybe some who have the same issue as me and can chime in. Because I feel some posters here are very knowledgeable in regards to the problems of the speed3 where my Mechances is just a general mechanic and may not be as familiar with the type of problems associated with the speed3. So case is I get a few suggestions here as to what to look for I can at least bring it up with my mechanic. Also yes I am well aware I am speeding. .. it's the only way I can test the engine and thank fully I did or I would uncover this problem driving like a gramps. ...

if your mechanic is not familiar with the car.. you need to go to someone who is. how awesome will it be to take a car to someone spend all the money to have them replace the engine and to not know the car. heck they could have installed it upside down.. what do they know if they are not familiar with the car..

Booter22 is right, if someone installing the MZR DISI engine is not familiar with the setup it is easy to screw something up in with the rebuild and installation.

The only way to diagnose your car is to have logs from a data recording device, Accessport from Cobb or Versatune. If there is a tune issue or a mechanical issue you may be able to see the signs of where it is coming from.
The chances are something is not plugged in all the way, a hose is leaking or something else is really screwed up. The only way to know for sure is to have someone who is familiar with the car go over it and look for the problem that is causing the issue.

I would take it easy on the car until you know whats wrong... flooring the pedal when something isn't 100% is a stupid idea and personally I think you are quiet stupid for not doing more research.

Chances are the mechanic you are going to today will find the problem so post up what it is when you find out. If you need further assistance let me know.

I don't believe flooring it was stupid as that was the only way I knew that there was an issue with the car.
At low speed the car was some what normal. Anyways I'm not here to debate that.

One of the problem was the hose to the intercooler was not even clamped down. So I clamped it down and the car regained most of its power.
The only issue remaining now is once I clamped down the hose there is a weird start up kazoo noise coming from the turbo.

The car is going to the shop today so I'm going to let the mechanic look at it. The mechanic did the original work and I'm not going to take it to mazda unless I have to and the mechanic can't solve the problem.

The labour has been paid. Any additional work /tweaks needed to be done to the car is on the Shop's time and $.

Just for reference when I say "my mechanic may not be as familiar with the problems that the speed3 has" is not a statement against my mechanic's competence. Its more catered to problems with the speed3 when modding... IE. how the speed's HPFP should be upgraded as a safety measure before doing major power mods...etc.. As a certified mechanic who has been putting cars back together for over 20 years I sure hope he can put a mazda engine together.

Also it's a old car, 2007 Speed3, I wasn't looking to take it to mazda and spend 10k on it. I would have just scraped it before doing that.
