Hi folks, my wife has 2 issues with her 2013 Mazda 3 GT Hatch.
1) She bought the car in December 2012 and during that first winter the passengers side side sill aero extension broke one of its mounting tabs off so it bows out a little under the front door. The dealer said they see it all the time, it wasn't caused by her hitting anything, water and ice just get behind the sill, expands, and breaks the mounting clip. They said thats just what happens in Canada and if we wanted it fixed it would be about $400. I declined, said it was a defect and should be covered under warranty. They said no and that was that. I have a hard time believing a defect like this wouldn't be covered under warranty. Has anyone else run into this issue?
2) Last week code P0442 popped up. My wife called the dealer this morning and the service advisor told her it was probably just the cap being loose. Fill it up, drive it around and after a few cycles the code will clear its self. If not just to come in a buy a new gas cap ourselves as that wasn't covered under warranty. Again, the car is still within its 3 year 80k warranty Whether its the gas cap or a cracked hose, should it not be covered under warranty?
Any thoughts on these issues?
Thanks!
