Most likely an alternator issue :(

The red battery light has been flickering on then off instantly all day, then when starting it up to drive home tonight the check engine light came on as well as the battery light. They stay on. Dash cam and HIDs behaving normally. Car still drives normally. I was expecting it to cut out (driving in the curb lane)

I unplugged the dashcam and drove home gingerly

Most likely Alternator? The Manual says that the red battery light means that there is a malfunction in the battery's charging systems.

Worthy to note that I have had the same battery since I have owned the car.

Anyone gracious enough to drop by my parents place (north york) with a code reader tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. I'd be willing to throw in a 750 ml chimay red boddle (a Belgian double) for your time.

Thanks

Kieran

Its may simply be your battery or a connection issue ie; loose or corroded connection and not the alternator, since your headlights and all are working fine. A bad alternator usually dims the headlights and would kill the battery real quick if driving.....just saying.

Where abouts are you in North York, I've got a code reader?

Thanks Flagrum_3 for stopping by and helping on a Sunday. Really appreciate the help.

Code is P0113 "Intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit high input"
He tried clearing the code after reading it but it came on again when starting the car.

Car drives normally. Ruled out alternator for now as I wouldn't have been able to drive as far as I have on just the battery alone (45 min sat night & to work 15 min this morning). Car starts every time perfectly even after sitting overnight & no dimming of headlights ect.

Taking it to Jimmy's sometime this week if he can fit me in.

Updates to follow....

It was broken wires to the MAF sensor.

All fixed now.
