When does everyone here switch from their summers to their winters?

I need to switch and do a oil change same time, 2weeks

I'm flexible because I don't have to get mine mounted each year, but in general first of the following:
1. Major snowstorm coming up
2. Dec 15 (law)
3. A week with daytime highs below 7C and freezing overnight

I was advised to switch over to winters when the temperature is consistently 7 C° or less. Last year I had them installed in the first week of November. I think we've had snow start mid to late November the last couple of years?

Was going to switch them next weekend but the temp is going up to 15 tomorrow.
When daytime temps are below 7°CC consistently like stated above: then I'll switch. Next few weeks or so.

Do it myself so I just put them on when it isn't so cold yet because otherwise it really sucks.

Don't worry too much about the wear because one they hit 50% down, winters are pretty much spent. And this isn't just for Blizzaks but I have found to be the case for most winters. Very obvious if you were like me finding your 4 year old 50% tread winters not stopping the 3 well, while new winters stopping a 4900 lb xc90 perfectly fine. Quite eye opening considering the weight difference.

Not that you can't drive a 50% used up winter tire for another season, just they don't work for me for what I buy them for. So it doesn't matter if the tire is 50% gone after 4 years or only 40% done. As my summers really sucks when it gets down to single digits, I am not going to bother about a bit more wear putting the tires bit earlier.

What brand tires are these and how many years of use? Would be good to know for others that have them.

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 225/40/18 with manufacture date of 5012, 3 years of use, with an estimated 45,000KM of useage. Originally thought defect but there's a difference in wear between this tire and the other 3 that may say otherwise.

When you see your breath from the cold, that's the first sign to put the winter tires.

When the temperature is below 7 on your way to and from work is a little more accurate.

General rule of thumb has been covered. When the temperature falls REGULARLY below 7 degrees. There are cold days, and there are mild days. For instance, now is a great time. It'll be -1 to +2 all week, but Friday will be +10 ... then back down.
