Hey guys wanted to know it anyone has disabled the door chime that comes on when the drivers door is open? I used to own a protege and there was a way to do it simply by cutting a wire behind the guage cluster. Hopefully there is something similar to that I could do to my 3. 06 3i if it makes any difference

Thanks in advance
Dom

the dealer needs to go into the vehicles program and turn it off. they can also turn off the seat belt chime. change rear defroster times and other stuff depending on model. DOMO

Maybe on the newer ones but I dot think you can do that on an 06. As far as I know anyway.

If that's so that sucks. I guess I'll have to look up the wiring diagrams for the car and see if there is a wire I can snip and get rid of the door chime

Pretty sure this is the case.

I would advise against cutting wires. The door switch is located inside the door latch itself. That switch sends the signal to the Power Junction Box (Body Control Module) of the position of the latch.
