Hi there,
I just got my Mazda3 on Monday. It's a 2016 Mazda3 sport GS 6MT with 150km on it. I've been driving it for a few days (about 100km this week) and there's always a vibration when I'm accelerating in 3rd gear (3rd gear only, all other gears are OK). I do not keep my hand on the shifter. Is this normal? I'm about to call my dealership to get it checked out but I was curious if this is a known problem or something others encountered.

I would call your sales guy and tell him your concerns and let him help you along the way.

Some dealerships will make you pay for an inspection on the service side if you aren't doing an oil change or something.

Just an idea😊

Yes! Get it checked out. That car should be 100%. You have a Service Component Warranty as well as your New Vehicle Warranty. They simply need to diagnose to confirm the issue. Sounds like it happens often so should be easy enough. Then they can offer solutions. They should not be billing for diagnosis or repair. Sounds like a Warrantable item.

Thank you both. I'll get it checked out as soon as possible. Just left a message to my car sales guy.

As for the vibration, I forgot to say that it comes from the shifter knob, not the car itself.

Hi guys i need your input. Just picked up my 2016 MZ3 Sport GS 6MT yesterday brand new, but noticed that i'm having trouble at times shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, there are times where i get locked out and have to reclutch and put it back to 3rd. This happens about 8/10 times.

Is this just because it's new? Should i wait until break in until i become concerned?

Please share your opinion! Thanks!

I went to my dealership for my problem with the 3rd to 4th gear shifting problems and my 3rd gear vibration (big vibrations when accelerating). After testing it, they said they'd call/write to Mazda to see what they would do. They decided to completely change my transmission. It took a while to get the new transmission (it was back ordered) but I finally had my appointment on January 5th. Got my car back yesterday with a new transmission in. No more vibration in any gears and no blockage. You should just go to your dealership!

I have similar symptoms, but only going into 1st it locks out from a dead stop, and going to second there is a grind when spirited driving once in a blue moon. But never 2nd to 3rd like that.
