Heat Shield Question

I ripped off the rear heat shield near the gas tank because it was barely hanging on and hitting the exhaust. Do I need to replace it or would it be fine without it? If I do need to replace it, how much is a new heat shield? I've had the one below the cat ripped off for a couple years now and it's fine but the gas tank one is the one I'm more concerned about.

I'd be putting it back on.................... if it came off because of the mounting holes eroding you might be able to use fender washers and speed nuts to put it back on.... i've done that on other cars. Usually the stud is long enough to just leave the existing fastener in place.
