Pick up truck was being a dick. No excuse for the Camaro to try and pass on the shoulder, but if the pick up would have just moved over non of this would have happened.

I agree with your first point. However, the only way none of this would have happened is if the camaro driver didn't do such a ridiculous maneuver. While the pick up driver could be seen obviously boxing in the camaro, it was inevitably the camaro that made the fateful move to pass on the grass like a crazy person.
