Just had a weird issue on my 2010 hatchback. The trunk began trying to unlock over and over again right after I unlocked the doors via my key. Now the hatch won't open at all and when I press the unlock bottom on the trunk, it does nothing and makes no noise. No clue what's going on.

Some electric dohooky is stuck and maybe now just burnt out.
Either bring to dealer or, if it still opens with the latch, use that for the rest of the time like I do since my key hole froze.

Unfortunately on the gen 2 hatch, the trunk has no latch. It opens via the electric button only, unless I open it from the inside out which is a major pain

Okay so yesterday it started working again, and today whenever the car is in park the trunk just keeps unlocking itself... Super frustrating. I'm planning on taking off the trunk liner, and cleaning the buttons connections. Does anyone know how to remove the trunk trim/panel in a gen 2 hatch?

This problem has just started happening to my 2010 Mazda 3. Any idea about any possible solutions? My trunk cannot be opened up anymore.

I ended up fixing it by just replacing the button with a new one. No problems anymore since I did that
My 2012 started acting up in a similar way, a couple of weeks ago I loaded/unloaded some cargo and afterwards the "door open" light in the dash wouldn't come out and the dome would stay on all the time. I tried to open and close a hatch a couple of times to no avail. Eventually the weather became more mild and it came back to normal. Didn't think much of it, figure a circuit was frozen of something.
Last night, just as I got to bed, I hear a car alarm outside, I look, and sure enough it's my car. Nothing was out of the ordinary so I shut off the alarm and go back to bed. Half hour later I get woken up by the alarm again. Shut it off again, disarmed and rearm it again, rinse and repeat because another hour later I get woken out of bed again, at which point I just disarmed it.
I can only guess it's the goddam rear hatch that's acting up again... and if it suddenly becomes lose while the system is armed, it'll think the hatch was fooced open and blow the alarm?
What a PITA! This is right after they did the recall on the rear hatch too :flaming
Milan96 How much was the button and where did you get it from?
