The headlight bulb (stock; not HID) on the drivers side burnt out. Is there any place that anybody would recommend buying bulbs from other than Canadian Tire? I'm wondering if there are any whiter bulbs out there. I only know of Canadian Tire and they only stock Sylvanna bulbs. This is what I'm using now and I'd prefer it if the bulbs were whiter but I'm not sure if this is possible for stock headlights. Thanks.

Can look for Osram night breakers or Phillips crystal vision on Amazon. People tend to argue over which one is brighter and whiter. I use the night breakers, very bright, but not white. I have found white/bluish halogens, but they aren't bright. So far I've found HIDS are the best way to get white and bright.

night breakers as much closer to 4000k, but that line is regarded as one f the best.
Alternatively you can do Osram cbi which is closer to 5000k

Just to confirm, does anybody know what type of bulbs they are? I haven't looked at the manual yet but doing a search looks like they are H7. Thanks.

H7 for 2005 low-beam.

Wait, can I install LED bulbs into the stock housing unit? The LEDs look much nicer.

Yup, the LED kits come with adapters for each bulb type. I'm sure Amazon will have them.

Yeah I've been looking at upgrading my weak fogs to LED's. Amazon has a bunch of different styles.

There aren't too many options on Amazon. Maybe only 6 or 7 that I see (Amazon.ca and Amazon.com). Do you recommend any particular brand?

Contact Kelvin from Imports Tuning one of our forum sponsors. He sells these kits as well. I believe he was looking into the fitment for an H7 setup.

I am talking to Kelvin right now. He messaged me but I responded back saying I was interested in HIDs by accident.

Do not go with led for your low beams. Halogen or hid. Led cannot get the same output/width of even a halogen bulb.

For the most light out of a halogen bulb use HIR ones

With a bit of trimming the 9011's fit 9005 sockets and 9012 bulbs fit 9006 sockets. On my '08 I discovered that the 9011's were a direct fit with no trimming required. The 9012's did require a bit of minor surgery.
There's at least one thread around here on these bulbs.

Thanks Joe, Dave contacted me. I'm giving him one of my spare H7 halogens.

Actually silvania makes whiter bulbs ZXE. They are rated at 4200k which is close to HID as you can see in this (http://www.carid.com/sylvania/info/comparison.html) comparison chart. They're certainly not as white as HID but, it's probably the brightest color you can get from halogen bulbs.
