Was just about to purchase a pair of Philips 85122. While removing the headlight to reseal and fix moisture leak I noticed my original bulbs are 85122+.
What is the difference between 85122 and 85122+ is ok to get either?

thanks

forgot to add, i purchased a set of philips D2S 85122 5000k for $50 and now looking at getting either the 85122 or 85122+
85122 is local and easy to pick up, would I notice any difference between 85122 and 85122+ and also is it worth it to maybe just keep and use the 5000k that I already have? only reason I am thinking of not using them its because I like more light rather than colour, not a huge fan of mods or changes to make it look more "fancy."

The 85122 5000k is an old school 5k bulb, not as bright as the standard Philips bulb or the +. It is designed to replace one worn out bulb so the color and brightness match an old bulb. The standard Philips bulb starts life at 4300k and color-shift to about 5k. The + bulb start life out at 4300k and stays there and is brighter than the standard bulb by a bit but warmer in color. I use the OSRAM CBI and they are amazing. Check out https://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/bulbs.html?___store=trsdefaultview

thank you! I am in between the 35122 + and Osram CBI, had to purchase an OEM ballast so have to make the choice before the ballast is here.

I am a big fan of the CBI, it is a newer design, brighter hotspot and wider and pure white. The + bulb is close to halogen colour. If you like a warmer light there is a osram bulb with the new design called the nightbreaker that I hear is just as good as the cbi.

thanks! Just picked up a pair of CBI bulbs will be installing when the ballast is here. Now just hoping my silicon re seal job holds and water doesn't damage any more components.

I found a picture of the cbi retail package and it compares distance with standard bulbs, looks like CBI are less distance than standard? is that true? standard I mean 35122+

The cbi should have a brighter hotspot over the + bulbs. Once they break-in and turn there true brightness they are amazing. I went the same way as you are and will never go back.
