In general I find this head unit extremely glitchy
I was expecting something much much better from what I've read about these Eonon head units in these forums
the primary problem I'm having is with the steering wheel controls having a mind of their own
sometimes the volume button on the steering wheel just changes the volume,as it should and other times it changes radio stations or music tracks
can anyone shed some light?
The other issues are minor ones that I can live with but this issue is driving me crazy.

Never had an eonon unit but from what I've been told by many who have had them, they are riddled with problems and drive people nuts. My alpine double din is 5 years old and still works perfectly and exceptionally. There's a reason they are a lot cheaper then aftermarket head unit brands such as alpine, kenwood, pioneer, clarion etc.
I would look into the wiring behind the deck. Could be some sort of wiring issue where the steering wheel control wires go to the head unit. I would assume the steering wheel controls came as an add on?

Tell me about it , I have D5163Z or something like that , not very happy with it . Buttons light is almost not visible for a while , I asked eonon about it and they send me a software update with some instructions on how to proceed.
I almost fainted after first install when I got a white screen with a cursor in the middle , wtf is that . I had to ask them again for more instructions (send them a video with the problem, if you just send written messages in English is going to take them a week or more to reply ) . Anyway, they sent more information about the whole install (with the missing part, most important) , I did as they said , but the problem is still there , not much light during the night on the unit buttons . Wasted two weeks with the unit disconnected for nothing.
Beside this issue , I had to reset the unit three times or so (not enough memory and frozen screen , volume went up-down-up-down..., not responsive screen...) , s...t .
Overall, not stable . I am still using it for the features it has but reliability is not there . Who knows when is going to bite the dust , it could be anytime . So , you are not alone .
