Cleaned out the throttle body today on my 2010 as part of some spring maintenance to clear up a rough idle I had, and I noticed a ton of crap when you look deeper into the throttle body. Is that normal to have quite a lot of crud in there? I've attached a link to a video of it. Thanks

Yep completely normal on my 2 first gens. My first one went 360 000km no problem so don't worry. I would take it off and clean it though. I did it several times throughout the ownership.

Did you take off the throttle body or intake manifold?

Run a ton of seafoam through it and drive the crap out of it. You could consider splicing an air/oil filter in the engine breather line, too. If the car otherwise runs fine, then don't worry too much!

Just took the throttle body off and scraped it all out.
